Located in Saint Petersburg, Florida, BayCare Health – Saint Anthony’s Hospital is part of BayCare Health, which is West Central Florida’s leading not-for-profit health system. The facility has a 50-bed psychiatric unit that offers inpatient behavioral health services to treat clients who are suffering from mental and/or substance use disorders. Although admission is only done on weekdays, Saint Anthony’s Hospital is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Clients who are 18 and older can be admitted for treatment by being referred by another hospital, a doctor or through the emergency room. Clients typically remain in the facility for three to seven days.
Once clients are admitted to the hospital, they will be assessed and stabilized. The care team at Saint Anthony’s Hospital includes social workers, psychiatrists, registered nurses and case managers. Clients receiving inpatient services also have access to 24/7 nursing care. The hospital prides itself on providing a structured environment that prioritizes safety. The goal of the hospital’s inpatient treatment is to address clients’ symptoms so they can eventually transition into a more flexible follow-up treatment.
