About Behavioral Health Services North – Morrisonville
Behavioral Health Services North is a nonprofit, behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment center. They also offer residential care through licensed residences and other housing programs. They have several locations, including the facility on State Route 22 B in Morrisonville, New York. They accept insurance from most major providers. They also accept NYS Medicare and Medicaid.
The center offers mental health services for children, adults and families. Counseling services include 24/7 crisis mental health services, school based services and personalized recovery services.
There are several special tracks in the substance use programs. These include a men’s program, a women’s program, an adolescent program, an adult program and a program for the hearing impaired.
The substance use treatment programs include an initial assessment and evaluation. If appropriate, you’ll receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). MAT is especially helpful if you have an opioid addiction such as heroin or prescription pain pills. If necessary, they offer a medical detox with support.
Substance use treatment also includes individual and group therapy. Many people with substance use disorders have co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder. You’ll work with a therapist to identify any co-occurring disorders that are a factor in your substance use. You may also receive medication management for co-occurring disorders.
They offer a 20 bed community residential program for men in substance use recovery. The program has 24/7 support. The average length of stay is six months. You’ll work on recovery, life skills and a plan for reentering the community.
There are also several safe, affordable housing options for those recovering from mental illness. Some of the housing programs offer financial support. You’ll need to apply through the Clinton County Housing Coalition’s Housing and Rehabilitation Selection Committee.
