About Berkshire Community & Specialty Pharmacy of BMC – Pittsfield
Part of Berkshire Health Systems in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Berkshire Community and Specialty Pharmacy of BMC offers a variety of medical services. Here you’ll find outpatient addiction treatment, psychiatric care, and inpatient detox treatment.
A specialized intensive outpatient program is available for adolescents aged 12 through 17. One interesting part of this facility is that it also has a prenatal and postnatal support program for women who are currently using or have a history of using substances.
If you’re seeking detox treatment, Berkshire Community has a 21-bed acute treatment unit known as McGee Recovery Center. This unit provides expert withdrawal medical care with therapy and case management. The principles of treatment used here are early recovery, relapse prevention, and safety. During your time in this program you’ll receive an individualized recovery plan, group therapy, and a continuing care plan.
Berkshire also has a long-term stabilization program for people who want to achieve long term recovery and need a bridge between initial detox at McGee and community-based residential treatment. During your stay you’ll continue with relapse prevention training, group therapy, and aftercare planning. The average stay is 14 days and they’ll also organize transportation to medical appointments for you.
Berkshire’s perinatal recovery program sets them apart from other addiction treatment centers. This program is for pregnant women or those who have recently given birth and have, or had, a substance use disorder. You’ll work with a personalized care team, a recovery coach, and staff who will assist you with any requirements you need to complete for the Department of Children and Family Services.
