Bill’s Place is a recovery residence, also known as a halfway house. Traditionally, these are programs designed for those exiting a recovery program who want additional support as they enter post recovery life. They are similar to, though less restrictive than, traditional inpatient programs found at hospitals and private rehabs.
Every program and event at Bill’s Place is designed to build positive character. Programs include vocational training, education groups, individual counseling, mentoring, group sessions, and family and community events.
Additionally, clients are required to participate in 12 step meetings in the house. The 12 step program provides clients with a curriculum they follow as they progress through the 12 steps of recovery, which includes accepting responsibility for their choices, relying on others for support, making amends with those they’ve hurt, and mentoring others in the program. Such meetings take Place on a regular schedule.
