At Bluegrass Counseling & Trauma Services, you’ll find treatment for mental health and behavioral health issues. They have two locations in Lexington, Kentucky, right next to each other on Darby Creek Road. They treat teens and adults with a variety of services.
Their program offers case management, which means you will have a case manager who helps you coordinate your care and set goals for progress. They’ll hold you accountable and help connect you to services you need to get back on your feet as well.
Many people need medication for their mental health, but finding the right medicine and dosage can be a process. The medication management services here can make that much easier. Along with individual counseling they offer couples therapy and marriage counseling for those who need it.
They offer several different assessments for clients of all ages, including children. This includes mental health assessments, ADHD assessments, and parenting assessments. Parenting assessments I found to be particularly interesting because it helps you understand your own strengths and limitations as a parent. Every parent is different, but every parent has the potential to find his or her strengths and utilize them to their advantage.
It’s also unique that this clinic has assessments available to determine if you need an emotional support animal (ESA), and if you do they can provide a letter for your landlord to allow you to live with your pet.
This clinic also has Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which can help with redirecting your trauma if you have conditions such as PTSD, depression, anxiety or other similar disorders. ART helps change the way distressing memories are held in your brain so they no longer trigger a strong emotional response.
