About Bridges of Hope – Stapleton
Known for its large population of Gulf War Veterans, Stapleton, Georgia is also home to Bridges of Hope. This long-term residential program provides a haven for men to connect with a higher power and achieve their addiction recovery goals. You’ll benefit from developing vital life skills and relationships to sustain recovery.
What stands out most to me is their spectacular campus. Surrounded by 150 acres of open fields, this 56 bed facility provides the ideal space for reflection and healing. You can enjoy the beauty of the outdoors with fishing, gardening and working on the farm. You’ll benefit from spending time in nature to heal your mind body and soul.
Another feature that caught my eye was their treatment approach. The 12 step principles are the program’s foundation. They don’t offer clinical or medical therapeutic approaches or detox. Instead, you find healing through prayer, fellowship, and a connection with a higher power. You’ll participate in daily devotionals, group meetings, work, and Alcoholics or Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
I also think the work aspect of their program is nice. You’ll contribute to the community through daily chores like cleaning, repairing, gardening, housekeeping and more. You can also participate in community services. You’ll benefit from developing a solid routine, interpersonal skills and a sense of belonging. These elements can greatly aid in your recovery journey.
Lastly, their exit interview strategy is great. About 45 days before completing your stay, they work with you to set you up for success in recovery. They assist with arranging housing, education, employment and more. That way, you’ll leave their program with a clear path to your next steps.
