About Cambridge Eating Disorder Center – CEDC – Concord
The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center in Concord, Massachusetts, treats more than eating disorders. They have a dual diagnosis program for mental health or behavioral issues along with an eating disorder diagnosis. They have partial hospitalization (PHP) level 1 and 2 programs as well as intensive outpatient programs (IOP). They treat children, teens, and adults.
While the main focus of programming here is disordered eating treatment, they used trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy models such as acceptance & commitment (ACT), cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivation, and emotion regulation.
They also have holistic approaches to therapy. This includes mindfulness, yoga, art and music and other expressive therapies.
Programming at CEDC allows clients to stay home and still get intensive treatment. PHPs have clients spend each day in a supportive treatment environment. Their IOP has clients attend three times a week. This allows participants to focus on treatment and healing during the day and still sleep in their own beds.
Licensed and experienced mental health and eating disorder experts help clients develop the tools to identify and deal with disordered eating, dysmorphic thinking, and negative coping mechanisms. Individuals learn how to set motivational and healthy goals and build the skills to reach them.
