About Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center – Evanston CBOC – Evanston

Evanston VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic provides a full range of behavioral health services in an outpatient setting. Evanston VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic is located in Evanston, Illinois.

The Veterans Health Administration’s primary mission is to provide medical care and services to America’s military Veterans. A combined mission of the health care center means active duty military, their family members, military retirees and veterans are all cared for at the facility.

The FHCC is connected to each CBOC with videoconferencing equipment that allows mental health providers to deliver such services as individual and group therapy, as well as medication management. This assures additional, quality mental health services for those patients without transportation to the FHCC.

Women-and men as well-may experience repeated sexual harassment or sexual assault during their military service. Special services are available to women who have experienced MST. VA provides free, confidential counseling and treatment for mental and physical health conditions related to MST.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
