About CARE Hawaii – Honolulu
Honolulu’s CARE Hawaii is a drug and alcohol treatment center that supports adults with substance use disorders. They also provide valuable community resources, such as referrals, psychiatric care, and family support services.
CARE Hawaii provides mental health assessments, counseling, residential dual-diagnosis treatment, outpatient programs, and aftercare.
Mental Health Assessment and Counseling
Comprehensive mental health assessments help clinicians to evaluate a client’s mental health and to co-create an individualized plan of care. Treatment may involve individual, group, and family counseling.
Residential Substance Use Disorder Treatment
The residential addiction treatment program at CARE Hawaii is for adults with severe and persistent mental illness, acute substance use disorders, or those with dual-diagnosis. The treatment team relies on evidence-based practices to treat addiction and mental health conditions at the same time. Treatment activities include individual and group counseling, skills development groups, and psychoeducation. Participants also receive a comprehensive relapse prevention plan, which may include regular check-ups or transitional living.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Treatment includes individual and group counseling, skills development groups, and aftercare.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Like other outpatient programs, participants attend individual and group sessions, but do so most days of the week.
Aftercare
Most addiction treatment programs have a comprehensive aftercare plan which includes relapse prevention strategies, recovery activities, and membership to an alumni program for on-going support.
