This promotes professional development and growth by offering an introductory learning experience in substance abuse counseling. This 16 week 48 credit course aims to give students a thorough foundation in every area of addiction treatment.
Every 16 week session includes training on subjects intended to help counselors with pre-treatment, treatment and post-treatment issues in order to enhance results and promote clients’ long term high quality recovery. The course discusses the difficulties encountered in case management, intensive outpatient or inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment settings.
