About Catholic Charities Community Services of Orange County – Restart – Goshen
Catholic Charites Community Center of Orange County RESTART is located in Goshen, New York. They partner with Orange-Ulster BOCES to provide RESTART. The program is designed for students aged 12 to 18 who would benefit from a structured environment that includes both education and addiction treatment. This may include young people who are in crisis or those returning from an inpatient treatment program.
Students in RESTART receive intensive day treatment for substance use issues as well as age appropriate education. The daily schedule includes schooling, individual and group therapy and relapse prevention, with recovery oriented and trauma informed care. They’ll try to help the youth develop life skills, coping skills and stress reduction skills. They’ll also work with them on anger management and emotional self regulation skills.
This program is great for students who need more structure in their school life. The school district must approve and the youth’s parent or guardian must sign off as well for a teen to be eligible for this program.
They have programs at other locations like Gateway for young people who are referred by a family member or their school. The program provides treatment for substance use disorder and it brings in family members to help with the process.
They also have a specialized treatment program for adolescents that’s focused on early intervention or prevention by providing therapy and surrounding you with community support. What I really like about this treatment program is that it gives kids a way to maintain their educational progress even when they are struggling.
