About Catholic Charities Family and Community Services – Hannick Hall – Newark
Located in Newark, New York, Hannick Hall is an addiction recovery center for adult women. As part of the Catholic Charities of Family and Community Services network, they provide residential treatment for pregnant women and women with young children.
Their residential treatment program supports women who have preschool aged children who need to stay with them during treatment. The program serves two functions. The first function is to provide stabilization, and the other is to provide rehabilitation through addiction treatment. Services are centered around individual therapy, group therapy, case management, job skill development, wellness and exercise therapy, and anger management training. Mental health and medical needs are directly treated through nursing services, traditional medical care, and psychiatric services. Relapse prevention and aftercare planning are provided before graduation from the program.
Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting you to a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities available, including support groups, experiential therapy, psychoeducation, and more.
Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with addiction. With the help of a professional, you’ll be given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. This often includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.
Aftercare programming is for individuals who have successfully gone through a treatment program but who desire or need continual support once returning home. These programs often include alumni groups, group therapy, 12 Step meetings, SMART meetings, and individual therapy. The purpose is to provide a safe space to continuously work on recovery. For the women who have completed residential treatment at Hannick Hall, connections to local organizations can be made.
They accept most commercial insurance plans. Ask your provider to confirm your coverage as out of network benefits could vary.
