About Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark – Jersey City
Serving Jersey City, New Jersey, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark provides outpatient behavioral health services for adults and adolescents. Using their Catholic identity and principles, Catholic Charities furthers the mission of the Catholic church while tending to the marginalized and the poor. In addition to outpatient mental health care, they provide day treatment for substance abuse and consultation with community agencies. You can also access medication monitoring here.
For medication monitoring, you’ll have the chance to attend group and individual counseling while seeing a psychiatrist for your medication. During this program you’ll receive ongoing support and psychoeducation. This medication monitoring is available for adults only.
For people with persistent mental illness and substance abuse, there is an individualized day treatment program providing a supportive and structured environment. This is ideal for people who require more daily monitoring and need more intensive therapy to treat their symptoms. The goal of this program is to maximize your level of functioning and minimize your chance of hospital stays. You’ll also participate in vocational training, case management, and graduate groups. You can continue to attend aftercare groups after finishing this daily program that runs Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 3:15 pm.
In addition to behavioral health support, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese can help you navigate homelessness, find employment, repair your family, and receive medical services for HIV. Emergency shelter and refugee resettlement are also accessible through this organization. For children and families, they offer adoption services and in home care like counseling and parenting skills training.
