The Counseling Center of Denton (CCD) provides low cost community focused outpatient counseling to help people heal and achieve personal growth. They have facilities in Delton, Texas including one at 1614 Scripture Street. This location is easy to access from Corinth, Sanger and Aubrey using the local DCTA bus service. Residents from these nearby towns can reach the facility within 15 to 20 minutes if they’re driving.
You can visit the facility to get evaluated if you or your loved one have substance use issues. They offer professionally conducted and thorough evaluations for substance use and co-occurring disorders. This evaluation involves interviews and the completion of several written assessments. They also screen for mental health, suicide risk and potential mood disorders. Specialized evaluation is conducted in Spanish for the Latino or Hispanic communities.
The evaluation will confirm if you have real issues with drug or alcohol that requires treatment. In that case, they’ll recommend treatment in the least restrictive setting that gives you the best chance for success. This may involve referrals to community providers that offer high intensity SUD treatment including detox or inpatient rehab. That’s if your symptoms are severe.
They provide counseling or outpatient therapy for those with mild symptoms in group and individual settings. This helps you build healthy coping skills to handle life’s challenges and avoid relapse. Groups meet at least once a week focusing on addiction education, counseling or a mix of both known as ‘psycho-educational.”
This program can also complement more intensive treatments like inpatient care, day treatment and IOP or address co-occurring disorders. Additionally, it can tackle family issues that contribute to or result from substance misuse. It can also serve to educate and support family members in relationships with current or recovering users. This program is available for the Latino and Hispanic communities as well.
The facility also provides divorce support including consultations on parenting plans and co-parenting workshops. They charge modest out of pocket fees for their services.
