About Center for Behavioral Health – Harbor Clinic – Sanford
Center for Behavioral Health – Harbor Clinic provided comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment for the community in Sanford, North Carolina. In addition to treating substance use disorders, they also addressed other co-occurring conditions that are commonly found alongside addiction such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and grief and loss issues. They recognized that addiction affects the family unit and offered family therapy as well to address interpersonal conflicts and relationship dilemmas and teach communication skills.
They were CARF accredited and became a critical Access Behavioral Health Agency in 2010 as recognized by the Department of Health and Human Services. This allowed you to receive treatment and consultations for most needs under one roof.
The Center for Behavioral Health was staffed by clinicians who started your substance use disorder treatment with an assessment of your physical and mental health. This helped provide a foundation for developing a personalized plan for treatment and psychoeducation about your condition. The multidisciplinary clinical staff included psychiatrists, licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors and licensed clinical addiction specialists. These clinicians addressed both substance use and dual diagnosis disorders.
The center worked with the criminal justice system to provide driving while intoxicated assessments and adult drug education training school. They also partnered with the county school system to offer psychiatric day treatment programs in an academic setting.
