Centerstone in Dickson, Tennessee is a nonprofit health system that specializes in substance use and mental health disorders. The substance abuse recovery services that are at this facility are outpatient intervention services, medication assisted treatment (MAT) and an intensive outpatient program (IOP). Other services at this facility are the residential treatment program and support groups. Medical staff will work with clients to develop a care plan that is appropriate for their needs.

These medications are designed to reduce a client’s cravings which can increase their chances of long-term recovery. Clients who receive outpatient services will generally meet with a counselor multiple times a week and may also be in contact with a peer support specialist.
Counselors will typically use evidence-based treatments such as motivational interviewing (MI) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). MI can help increase a clients motivation to change their addictive behavior, and DBT can help client’s develop coping skills to avoid using substances in response to stress. Individual counseling can also help clients heal from mental health disorders that may contribute to their addiction. The staff is trained to treat anxiety, anger disorders and other mental health issues.
