About Centerstone – Shelbyville
Centerstone is a nonprofit behavioral health and substance abuse treatment center in Shelbyville, Tennessee, just a short drive from Duck River. Cornerstone provides comprehensive and compassionate mental health and addiction care to clients from all walks of life. They serve clients of all ages.
Treatment at Centerstone is focused on the client, not their diagnosis. As a result, they seek to treat the whole person so they can experience lifelong recovery. They also have specialized services for military members. Services offered include:
Clients may need to undergo detox before moving on to a treatment program. Centerstone offers medically monitored withdrawal management for such clients. This allows clients to safely detox in a secure setting with medical assistance from trained staff.
Centerstone offers a short term inpatient program for clients in crisis. Clients stay at the hospital during this time so medical staff can closely monitor and assist them. Clients in this program participate in individual, group, and family therapy and have their medications managed by staff.
Clients in the outpatient program visit the facility on a regular schedule to participate in group, individual, and/or family therapy based on their needs. Since clients in this program continue to live at home, it’s best for those with mild symptoms.
MAT is the use of approved prescription medications to treat substance use disorder. Following an assessment, clients may receive medication that can reduce cravings and other withdrawal symptoms. MAT is closely monitored by staff.
