House managers may supervise residents taking their medication, but do not dispense. Meals are provided. 24/7 supervision is part of the program. A residential coordinator and house manager provide case management that assists in helping residents find necessary services.
Residents participate in life skills training in order to transition into the community. You’ll learn how to manage your own medication, prepare meals, do laundry, basic cleaning, self-care, and find services and housing.
After a resident has been in the program for two years, they are assisted in finding new housing and maintaining the services necessary for independence. Family members and community members are encouraged to participate in the resident’s life skills development to form a support system and increase communication and social skills.
Serenity House focuses on helping people with mental health challenges gain stabilization and independence to prevent a cycle of crisis hospitalization.
