About Central Florida Treatment Center – Cocoa
Central Florida Treatment Center Cocoa is an outpatient opioid dependency and co occurring disorder treatment center. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder (OUD) for patients 18 and older. The facility is located on North Cocoa Boulevard in Cocoa, Florida and is accredited by The Joint Commission. They also accept multiple insurance plans including Evernorth, Magellan Health, United Healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, and Cigna.
One thing that stood out is that the center works hard to provide treatment access to all. They offer free aids such as qualified American Sign Language interpreters to help patients with hearing impairments. They also provide interpreters for people with limited English. They offer other assistive devices such as taped and braille materials, visual fire alarms, readers, assistive listening devices, and captioned films.
When you begin treatment, you’ll attend the clinic seven days per week to receive your MAT dosing. Some of the medications used include methadone, buprenorphine, and naloxone. You’ll have an initial assessment to determine what medication is best for your situation.
You’ll also have a minimum of one weekly counseling session. The counseling session is a requirement for treatment. You can have more than one session per week if you desire. The goal of counseling is to help you address the root causes of addiction so you can move into long term recovery.
The philosophy of the program is that drug dependency is a spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental disease. The treatment plan includes a period of at least six to 12 months on medication and receiving counseling, and then a process of tapering off the medication support once you achieve stable recovery and sobriety. In the end, you’ll be able to live a truly substance free life.
