About Channing House – Worcester
Channing House is a recovery house for male adults located in Worcester, Massachusetts. The recovery home is part of a larger organization that provides residential services for adults with a wide range of mental health and substance use disorder conditions. This includes autism, brain injury, mental health needs, and addiction. Channing House is an addiction recovery home for men who are struggling with substance use disorders.
You work together with the staff to build a network of relationships that help contribute to building a better life for you and your family. The recovery home model emphasizes community involvement and empowers you to create a system so you can live a fulfilling life as you recover from addiction. You typically stay at the recovery home for 6 to 9 months as you learn to reintegrate into the community.
You’ll participate in everyday activities like cooking, meal planning, and shopping, as well as attending meetings and appointments and volunteering at local organizations. They help you connect with a case manager who can provide you with a wide range of resources and services, including relapse prevention.
The house was built in 1845 and is on the National Register of Historic Places. They completely renovated the interior of the home in 2018. You are expected to volunteer and dedicate service time to the local community. You’re eligible if you’re 18 years or older with a substance use disorder. They work with most major Insurance providers, including MassHealth, which is Massachusett’s public health insurance option in which you’re covered under Medicaid.
