About Children’s Recovery Center – Norman
Children’s Recovery Center is a lifeline for parents in Norman, Oklahoma, and beyond who are watching their teenagers struggle with addiction. This inpatient rehab serves kids who are 12 to 17 years old who have drug or alcohol addiction or psychiatric issues. Since they help with both addiction and mental health, they’re uniquely helpful for kids with dual diagnoses.
This rehab actually has two separate units. The first is a 24 hour crisis stabilization unit. You can walk into this treatment center at any time with your teen who’s in a mental health crisis and they’ll help them get through this difficult time.
The other unit is the inpatient residential program. This program is for teenagers who need intensive treatment for their addiction or psychiatric issues. Since they specialize in helping teens with substance abuse, the staff at this rehab knows how to help your teen reach and maintain sobriety while they develop healthy social relationships and other things they need to thrive.
This rehab is a public facility that’s run by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. According to clients, that’s both a positive and a negative. It’s great to have a facility where you don’t have to worry about whether you can afford treatment. But it does have a lot of the issues you often see at public facilities like a lack of funding for adequate staff and important resources. It is accredited by the Joint Commission, so you can trust that your child will receive a high standard of care.
