I find it admirable that they realize the importance of teaching our children the importance of having a healthy outlook when it comes to drugs and alcohol. Some young people are already struggling with addiction, and this center knows how to intervene in that situation. They are an outpatient clinic, which means your young one can still attend school and doesn’t have to make a full commitment as far as scheduling goes. They are also a dual diagnosis center. This means they treat people with co-occurring mental health issues that coincide with their substance addiction. This is more common than you’d think.
Their outpatient program offers individual therapy, which is a crucial service for the recovery process. This service puts you one on one with a therapist. This gives your child the opportunity to feel like they can express themselves and be heard. They also put a heavy emphasis on family involvement. They’ll help your child put together his or her own prevention plan and strategy in order to combat temptation and peer pressure that might surface in the future. They also offer interventions if your child is heavily involved in substance use and needs encouragement to get treatment.
Once your child completes treatment they may be able to receive aftercare. These services provide ongoing support for long term success. They may include continued counseling, support groups and referrals to community resources.
