The Christian Community Health Center is an organization with several outpatient clinics in Chicago, Illinois. They have many different services including drug and alcohol addiction treatment and mental health care. They serve adult clients along with kids and teens, and they can also help people with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.
Most of your treatment here will be individual therapy and group therapy, but they’ll customize your program to what you need for recovery. They’ll take you through an assessment to get to the root of what is contributing to your addiction, and they can also refer you to further psychiatric treatment such as psychiatric medications. They can also offer addiction medications in some cases, to lower your physical symptoms and cravings.
I was glad to see that they take a personalized approach here and use trauma informed care throughout your treatment. They have specialized treatment for any specific issues you’re dealing with such as postpartum depression, anxiety or grieving. Plus they have other medical services here like primary care and women’s health, along with community support services like housing assistance and social services.
While clients here are typically happy with the treatment they receive they do say that the scheduling and administration here has some issues. They have long wait times for appointments and clients have trouble getting answers over the phone.
