About Citizens Inn Transition – Peabody
Citizens Inn Transition is a not for profit organization that serves the homeless community. They are located in Peabody, Massachusetts. They provide family housing for people who are in recovery from substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. They have been around since 1970.
The facility is located in a handicapped-accessible building. They can accommodate eight sober living families. Families of two or three will stay in a studio apartment with a private bathroom and a small kitchen. Families of more than three people will stay in a larger unit. There is a large kitchen in the basement where families can gather and socialize with one another.
One person in your family must have an issue with substances in order to stay here. They provide you with a case manager who will see you through your entire stay at the home. They can help coordinate group and individual therapy sessions for you. They can also assist you with permanent housing.
They offer some group therapy sessions at the facility. These sessions are provided by a different organization. It can be helpful to talk to other people who are going through the same thing that you are. A trained clinician will moderate each group. They have art therapy and recreational activities as well.
They offer life skills training. you will learn coping mechanisms for dealing with the stressful situations that may have led you to use substances in the first place. You will have parenting classes and job preparation training as well.
