About Clem-Mar House – Edwardsville
The Clem-Mar House was formed back in 1994. It’s a halfway house for men. If you’re recovering from alcohol or drug abuse, they’ll help get you back to a sober lifestyle. This facility is out in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania. There’s also a home for women in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
Once you’re in their program, there’s a daily schedule filled with therapy, either by yourself or in groups. Their staff believes in tackling any mental and behavioral issues that might trigger your addictions. This means that you’ll learn about your emotions and how to handle stress. To deal with frustrations in a healthy way, you’ll have daily meditation and go to AA or NA meetings with the other guys. There are also random drug tests. When you’re not in treatment, you’ll also have some downtime for recreation and to look for steady work.
In addition to therapy, you’ll also learn new life skills, like being responsible for chores and following house rules. There are practical skills, too, like keeping track of your time and money and learning how to cope with trauma in healthier ways. They might connect you with resources in Luzeme/Wyoming Counties. You might also meet alumni who often return as motivational speakers. That way, they can share their experiences and reassure newcomers. When you graduate, you might be inspired to give back to other guys and help them the same way they helped you.
