About Coastal Recovery Center – Myrtle Beach
Coastal Recovery is a non-profit drug and alcohol abuse recovery center in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Their holistic approach to treating substance use disorder includes addressing co occurring disorders to better treat the whole person and not just one condition. It’s a private facility with state of the art amenities.
Coastal Recovery’s full continuum of care is supported by an experienced team of medical professionals, including physicians and counselors. They treat adult men and women.
Medically managed detox provides clients with medical supervision and assistance as they undergo the difficult detoxification process. In addition to therapy and education, staff may administer medication to help clients cope with withdrawal symptoms. When clients achieve stability, they transition into another level of care.
IOP is a day program that sees clients visiting the facility for treatment on a flexible schedule rather than living onsite. Treatments offered in IOP are rooted in behavioral therapy and education opportunities. Treatment plans are similarly customizable and focused on coping skill development. IOP is offered for nine hours a week over three days.
This is a less intensive version of IOP, ideal for those who have achieved stability and don’t require as frequent monitoring or check ins. Clients attend meetings six hours a week, twice a week.
PHP is sometimes used to transition between detox and other levels of outpatient care. Clients meet at the facility for 20 hours each week, five days a week, on a flexible schedule. Like IOP and outpatient programs, PHP allows clients to live at home and continue working while they receive treatment.
Coastal Recovery continues to offer services to clients after they’ve left treatment. Before discharge, a client’s care team will meet with them to develop a long term plan to help them continue the recovery process and maintain sobriety. Aftercare includes ongoing monitoring, connection to community resources, and referral to sober living housing.
