About Colonial House – Female Facility – York
Colonial House has a facility offering adult women alcohol and substance addiction help in York, Pennsylvania. This residential program includes a full treatment schedule and is based on the 12-step sobriety model.
In the program, you’ll develop a deep understanding of how 12-step sober support works. Early in your recovery process, you’ll have access to the program to begin working through the challenges that come with sober living. You’ll also have psycho-educational resources that may include reading material, group sessions, lectures, and attending AA/NA meetings.
As part of your program, relapse prevention training is offered weekly to help you learn the warning signs and triggers that may arise when trying to remain sober. They emphasize the importance of having a support group to lean on and learning various methods to prevent a relapse.
You’ll attend mandatory counseling sessions and small group meetings. The smaller setting provides a deeper level of peer trust and encourages you to share more openly, offering a unique environment for recovery. Colonial House also includes life skills training to give you a better opportunity to gain coping mechanisms, anger management skills, job research, and stress management techniques. Work is part of your recovery journey, and you’ll have projects at the facility to help promote accountability.
Family involvement is always encouraged. Your loved ones are invited to meet with counselors, and there’s a family educational group to help them understand more about the recovery process.
