About Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (C.A.R.E.) Program – Willmar
Located in Wilmar, Minnesota is the Community Addiction Recovery Enterprise (C.A.R.E.) Program. This program operates under the Minnesota Department of Human Services and supports adults who need treatment for a substance use disorder. They have a dedicated treatment program here if you have a chemical dependency or have a co occuring mental health struggle as well.
You must be referred to the program to receive treatments here. Many of the referrals happen through the court system, a county social service agency, a mental health provider, or a hospital.
Once you’re admitted into the program, you can work through the residential treatment program for up to 90 days before you get discharged.
The CARE program operates out of a secure and locked facility. While you won’t necessarily be going on outings or integrating with the local community while receiving care here, you can expect to find a structured recovery environment that allows you to focus fully on your addiction treatment and internal healing.
Although these facilities are locked, your loved ones can still visit you here at the hospital, though there are designated visitor hours and visitors can only include those who have been approved by you beforehand.
You’ll work to build different skills and strategies that will help you navigate recovery both during the residential treatment program and once you have been discharged. There’s a strong focus on helping you build relapse prevention skills. You’ll do this by learning how to identify triggers that would normally lead you to substance use and then learning alternative ways to deal with those triggers.
Their dedicated aftercare planning program is another support you can expect to find here. After you leave this treatment program you can still continue working with a care team so that you can safely transition back into society.
