About Concept House – Miami
In sunny, suburban Miami, Florida, Concept House is an addiction treatment center that’s part of Banyan Community Health. They’ve been around since 1970. This location provides residential substance abuse treatment for women.
In this program, they also treat mental health disorders and smoking dependence. If you choose this program, you’ll receive 24 hour nursing and psychiatric care, as well as counseling. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also a tool used to help build a foundation of recovery.
Concept House uses the philosophy that treatment should be a positive and motivational foundation for recovery. Recovery plans are individualized and adhere to your goals and motivations. Residents who enroll in treatment may have a range of issues they’re working on including substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. Women come from referrals, the court system, and voluntarily.
In addition to group and individual counseling during this program, you’ll engage in equine therapy, yoga, and other wellness initiatives. If you’re able to go on outdoor excursions, Sabal Lake and Morningside Park aren’t too far away. Family and peer support groups are available onsite. Their philosophy when it comes to addiction is that it’s a progressive disease with frequent relapses.
The 24/7 care will include co-occurring mental health support. Crisis stabilization and intervention will be part of your recovery plan if necessary. You’ll meet with a psychiatrist routinely during your stay to manage medications and adjust them as time goes on.
Banyan Health is a nonprofit community health system serving South Florida. They aim to help uninsured and underinsured individuals in underserved communities. They also do research to help find ways to integrate behavioral health and primary care.
