About Corrections Center of NW Ohio – Stryker
The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio serves as a regional detention facility in Stryker, Ohio, that’s committed to protecting the public, employees and inmates. It’s a cost effective detention center. They’re managed by the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio and was established in 1987.
The detention center provides secure housing for individuals awaiting trial or serving sentences to ensure safety and order within its facilities. They provide community corrections programs that support reintegration. They use programs such as electronic monitoring, GPS tracking, and transdermal alcohol detection to help monitor and supervise you while in the community.
They provide substance abuse services aimed at addressing addiction issues among the inmates. It consists of four programs in which you’ll be educated on the impact and potential consequences of drugs and alcohol. The program runs twice each month.
The center does encourage volunteer and educational programs. These programs are aimed at reducing recidivism and promoting personal development.
Another program they have is the Toledo Reentry Initiative for women. They use the trauma reduction empowerment model to women returning to the county from the Ohio Reformatory for Women and the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio.
The program provides women with an assessment, case management, and trauma informed services. Through these programs, the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio strives to promote public safety, support inmate rehabilitation and facilitate successful community reintegration.
