About Corsica River Mental Health Services – CRMHS – Centreville
Corsica River Mental Health Services is a nonprofit that offers a comprehensive range of services for substance use and co occurring mental health disorder treatment. They have three Maryland locations including the facility on Banjo Lane in Centreville. The Banjo Lane facility offers outpatient services along with school based therapy and psychiatry.
They accept insurance from all major companies and they also take Medicare and Medicaid. They won’t turn you away due to a lack of insurance or financial issues and they have sliding scale payment options.
One unique program is the Farm Stress Management program. They recognize that farm families feel pressure due to inconsistent income and legal concerns along with physical and mental stress. There are issues around inheritance rights and selling parts of the land as well as taking second jobs. To support farmers and prevent mental distress and even suicide Corsica River offers counseling specifically tailored to these needs.
The facility also has the Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) for people recovering from mental illness who are homeless. To be eligible for PATH you have to have a mental health diagnosis. You also need to have recently been evicted and be behind in your utility or rent payments. If you have a diagnosed mental illness and you’re fleeing domestic violence you may also be eligible.
If you’re unsure what services you need they have a care coordination program for those discharged from inpatient services. If you’re 18 and up and have a mental health or substance use disorder (or co occurring disorder) and you’ve been to the emergency room or had inpatient mental health care twice in the last year you may enroll in the program. They’ll connect you with the appropriate services to help you avoid further emergency and inpatient visits. This program is in conjunction with the University of Maryland Shore Regional Health.
