Day One – Outpatient Services is a community focused organization in South Portland, Maine, that provides a range of services to adults, adolescents, and families. They serve clients who are struggling with their mental health, are recovering from substance use struggles, or have psychiatric needs. As a leader in quality, recovery-focused care in southern Maine, they offer an outpatient program that will meet you where you’re at in your recovery journey.
Their Portland location also serves as the Homeless Youth Program Preble Street Teen Center. Here, teens are supported with safe housing as they navigate recovery from their substance use and mental health needs.
Their programs are individualized to your needs and include a combination of evidence based therapies and holistic, whole person approaches to care. Clinical services include medication assisted treatment (MAT) using Suboxone. There are also counseling services and specialized therapy groups that will help you identify triggers, manage cravings, and work through other struggles. This organization serves individuals from all walks of life, and I appreciate their focus on helping individuals who have experienced traumatic incidents, need harm reduction support, or are served better through a preventative model of care.
Their Teen Centers for Unhoused Youth in Portland also works with the local school districts. This allows children to get connected to mental and addiction recovery services in an environment that is natural to them. Plus it keeps them from needing to go into a clinic to receive care.
