Specialized programs are available for veterans and first responders.
At Design for Change, clients undergo a personalized evaluation and are offered a customized treatment program. Treatment may include Suboxone and naltrexone to reduce symptoms and ease comfort during withdrawal. Case management provides 24/7 support, family resources, and initial first steps to sobriety. Detox generally lasts seven days and can be a standalone program or segue into inpatient care.
Residential inpatient at Design for Change includes group and individual counseling and therapy, holistic therapy, spiritual therapy, nutrition and fitness therapy, psychodrama therapy, life skills development, and biosound therapy. Clients stay at fully-furnished resident housing, have private rooms, and have access to a swimming pool, garden, and recreational activities. Peer support and community support are available. Residential housing may last up to 30 days.
Clients in partial hospitalization attend sessions 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Programs incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) approaches, and can include experiential therapy and medication-assisted treatment (MAT). PHP tends to last several weeks to several months.
Design for Living’s outpatient care takes place in a separate facility. Clients receive group and individual therapy and counseling, peer support, commitment and acceptance therapy, CBT, and periodic evaluations. Family therapies and resources are available to promote sobriety, and clients may also receive nutritional guidance and participate in workshops.
Upon completion of their program, clients receive continuous care and support. Design for Living offers career counseling and planning for permanent housing. Group counseling and meetings are available through Design for Living’s alumni network.
