About Detroit Recovery Project – Detroit
Detroit Recovery Project is a nonprofit health organization located in Detroit, Michigan. They offer outpatient drug and alcohol rehab services. They treat people with substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. They also treat people who have dual diagnoses and suffer from a substance use issue and a mental health problem at the same time.
They provide group and individual therapy to people of all ages on an outpatient basis. The individual therapy you receive will be based on an assessment that you take when you first enter the facility.
They provide several different types of treatment here. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) will teach you to look at the world and your own circumstances differently. When you do this, you will often be more willing and able to change destructive behavior.
They also offer dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for people who have dual diagnoses. It teaches people who experience emotions at a very intense level various coping mechanisms. It teaches them to accept their reality and make changes to better their lives within that reality.
They may also use other methods of treatment such as motivational interviewing (MI) which encourages people to find their personal motivations to change. Drug education is often used to let people know the adverse effects of drugs on their bodies and abilities to make decisions.
Group therapy will give you the opportunity to discuss your struggles with people who are going through the same thing. Group treatment will be led by a therapist who will introduce topics for the group to discuss.
