Fort Belvoir Community Hospital–Dumfries Health Center, in Dumfries, Virginia, is an outpatient mental and behavioral health care facility for military personnel, veterans, and families, including specialized programming for children, adolescents, young adults, and persons with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.
Clients in outpatient treatment receive medical and mental health assessments, personalized care plans, and comprehensive case management. Referrals for acute and subacute inpatient treatment are available as needed.

Clients engage in extensive individual, group, and family counseling and robust, recovery-focused life skills training addressing topics such as coping, self-care, emotional regulation, disease and medication management, and relapse prevention.
Their aftercare services ensure a complete continuum of care aligned with clients’ evolving needs and may include 12 step program facilitation, peer coaching, and referrals for additional medical, mental health, and social service programs.
