Emma L. Bowen Community Service Center is a community resource facility located in New York, New York. They offer treatment for people with substance use disorder and alcohol use disorder. The center has been serving the community for more than 35 years. You can receive treatment from Monday to Saturday. They are focused on helping people with lower incomes.
You will have a full assessment when you come in. They will make a plan for your recovery that will include group and individual therapy. The group sessions focus on a wide variety of subjects.
They offer an anger management group for people who use substances to control their emotions and a parenting group benefiting those who have had custody or truancy issues with their children.
They offer a group specifically for survivors of domestic violence. They have a group for people who used substances to deal with grief and another for those who have suffered traumatizing experiences.
They take a holistic approach to drug and alcohol rehab therapy. They will educate you on the effects of substances on your body and teach you about the benefits of a healthy diet. They will teach you how to avoid having a relapse as well.
They can provide you with medication management if you need it to deal with the pain of withdrawal. They will invite your family to participate in your treatment if you or your therapist thinks it is necessary.
If you have been charged with Driving While Intoxicated, you can take an assessment here. They assist people in recovery with vocational training and job hunting. They will also assist you in finding housing and 12 step meetings once you have finished treatment.
