Fairfax Falls Church Community Services Board – Woodburn Place Crisis Care is a 16 bed regional facility in Annandale, Virginia. They provide an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, providing services through the local Community Services Board. The program is operated by the Fairfax Falls Church Community Services Board to provide short-term crisis stabilization for men and women in the community who have severe and persistent mental illness or substance use disorders.
To be eligible for admission to the facility, you must be 18 years old and be willing to receive treatment and psychiatric stabilization. In addition to being a resident of the counties served by the community service board, you must also be experiencing a mental health crisis or need care for a substance use disorder. While a resident, you are engaged in a customized treatment program to give you structure and supervision to maintain your safety while improving your symptoms.
The facility aims to prevent the need for psychiatric hospitalization by offering crisis intervention and stabilization treatment, medical assessment, and medication evaluation and management. You will receive evidence based therapies in group and individual counseling settings. Additionally, your program will include holistic approaches to care that include wellness and recovery activities as well as individualized counseling sessions for your family members and friends who have also been affected by your drug use.
Your multidisciplinary team will include behavioral health clinicians, substance abuse counselors, recovery specialists, a psychiatrist and nurse practitioners. Before discharge, your program includes planning for your short-term needs after returning to the community. This may include community resources, counseling and referral to vocational assistance.
