About Family Outreach Center – Grand Rapids
The Family Outreach Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan provides a variety of outpatient services to youth and adults. They have substance use treatment and mental health services as well as recovery support and services for the justice involved.
For youth they offer in home services and school based outreach as well as in office care. They focus on serving low income, uninsured and under insured families and do not turn anyone away for lacking the ability to pay.
The Center uses traditional evidence based approaches through individual, group and family therapy. What really stood out was their recovery management program. This program supports people who have tried conventional treatment before and it hasn’t worked out.
The Recovery Management approach combines evidence based care with case management to meet your basic needs as well as recovery coaching so that you have support from someone who has walked in your shoes. The clinic will ensure you’re connected to other services and program that can meet needs the clinic doesn’t have resources for. This program is especially helpful for those with co occurring mental health and addiction issues.
Another unique program at the Outreach Center is the Family Engagement Program. This addiction treatment program focuses on women who are the head of the household, which are often single mothers.
This program helps with child care, transportation and other barriers to treatment these women might face. They also provide case management to link them to additional support and peer coaching to help remind them they are not alone.
