About Family Recovery Services – Hillsboro
Family Recovery Services in Hillsboro, Ohio, is now the Recovery Council after a merger in 2023. Despite this merger, adults, adolescents and families will still receive supportive care if they’re struggling with substance use or are facing co-occurring mental health challenges. They provide care in an outpatient setting but can connect you to other supports like residential care, transitional housing and medication assisted treatment (MAT) offered at other locations.
Outpatient care services are offered through the Recovery Council and are primarily aimed at helping individuals develop the skills they need for sustainable sobriety. There’s a strong approach to prevention support and skills development which happens through counseling sessions.
There are regular group sessions where different topics to improve your life are discussed. Among these topics are learning how to manage issues with anger, parent improvement skills, life skills development, and how to navigate codependent relationships that might be harmful to your overall recovery.
There are different outreach services that target the needs of recovering individuals and loved ones who want to know how to best support you during recovery. One of their programs that really stands out is their prevention and diversion program which serves students across four school districts in the community. Through this program topics of substance use education and prevention are discussed.
