About Family Service League – Stepping Stones – Huntington
Family Service League – Stepping Stones in Huntington, New York, is the program’s administrative office. This location offers PROS: Stepping Stones, a personalized recovery oriented service. This specialized program from the state of New York is a comprehensive model to integrate treatment, support and rehabilitation. Within this program there are four components. These are community rehabilitation and support, intensive rehabilitation, ongoing rehab and support, and clinical treatment.
Some of the services they provide within this structure are basic living skills, community living exploration, wellness self-management and financial management. The objective is to help those in recovery from substance use disorders or mental health conditions to learn the skills they need to remain sober and improve their relationships, physical and behavioral health, and situations around their education, employment and housing. The goal is to keep people in the community while they receive the services they require.
Stepping Stones provides clinical treatment for mental health and addiction to many substances including alcohol, nicotine and drugs. They also offer treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder, trauma disorders and psychiatric conditions. The comprehensive program includes support for career exploration and development, job retention and recreational and social development. Families receive psychoeducation to understand the role that substance use and addiction have played in their family life.
New York State licenses PROS programs either with or without clinical treatment. Providers must stay up to date on clinical resources and treatment options. Surveyors determine if the programs respond to your co-occurring needs and changing life circumstances, and whether they should engage community support for your ongoing recovery.
