About Frederick Institute – Frederick
Frederick Institute is a drug rehab facility located in Frederick, Maryland. The medically trained staff treats people for opioid use disorder. They provide medically assisted treatment (MAT) to ease your withdrawal. They accept Maryland Medicaid and self-pay.
This facility is part of the Addiction Treatment Systems Family. They’re licensed to administer methadone. One of the great things about this place is the same-day admission policy. Not all of ATS’s offices let you start the same day.
Methadone is an opioid that suppresses your need for illegal opioids without the euphoric effects. The clinicians provide it in liquid or tablet form. You’ll have to come into the clinic to receive doses until you have stabilized enough to take it at home.
They also offer Suboxone, which has a similar effect to Methadone. However, Suboxone is a partial-agonist medication, meaning you’ll feel its maximum effect at small doses. You will not feel a greater effect if you take more. You will have an assessment when you come in to determine which of these methods is right for you.
They have a patient-centered approach which will give you input into the therapeutic method used to treat you.
You’ll be assigned a counselor when you enter the program. You will have group and individual sessions. You do not have to participate in group therapy, but it’s highly recommended. They have many groups to choose from. They also offer family sessions and referrals.
Frederick also has some sites that allow you to stretch your legs and clear your mind. The Monocacy National Battlefield is within driving distance, and you can also look over the adjacent river.
This company has been around for 25 years. They have multiple licenses and accreditations. Former clients say the staff is non-judgmental and helpful. Many of them say that the treatment they received saved their lives.
