About Freedom House – Greensboro
Freedom House, in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a faith based long term residential program for women in addiction recovery. They specialize in sober living and aftercare services for adult women with children. Dedicated programs for women with co-occurring mental health disorders, postpartum women, young adults, and women living with HIV/AIDS are available. Their primary treatment modalities include addiction counseling, life skills training, and holistic care.
Their long term sober living program is designed to support women with children as they step down from immersive inpatient rehab and prepare to reintegrate into their communities. You may remain in the sober living house for up to 12 months as they work to secure stable housing and employment. They offer extensive individual, group, and family counseling based on a range of different psychotherapeutic approaches. Their 12 Step focused programs also emphasize recovery directed life skills training, including courses in coping, stress and anger management, trauma resolution, communication, nutrition and wellness, conflict resolution, parenting, and relapse prevention.
Freedom House offers a full complement of aftercare services to enable mothers and their children to thrive upon leaving the sober living program. This includes peer coaching, 12 Step induction, and other alumni programs to promote mothers’ sustained sobriety. Social services referrals and other ancillary services, including assistance with housing, education, childcare, food, transportation, medical and mental healthcare, and employment, are also available.
Freedom House is accredited by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). They accept private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and self pay. Ask your provider to verify your coverage as out of network benefits may vary. They also offer need-based financial assistance, per session pay options, and sliding scale payment plans.
