About Friendship Club – Santa Fe
Friendship Club is a unique type of organization in the addiction recovery space. It’s a community center that focuses on addiction recovery, so at the heart of it is a supportive community of people in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. This community center’s bread and butter is their 12 Step meetings like AA and NA. They have various types of meetings throughout most of the day and evening every day of the week. So no matter what your schedule is, you can probably find a group here that works for you.
Outside of the rich peer support, I think what I find most interesting about this community center is the variety of groups they have. For example, they have some groups that are for recovery from specific drugs like cocaine. They have LGBTQIA+ groups and groups for people who have loved ones with addictions. There are groups in Spanish, too, as well as interfaith meditation groups and breathwork groups.
I also think it’s interesting that this center is really set up in a way that makes it easy to socialize before and after meetings, so you can get to know people in recovery. They even have some light amenities like a snack bar.
Clients say that this community center is a treasured resource for people at varying stages of their recovery. The only complaints clients typically have are minor, like parking challenges. But overall they say that the center is warm and inviting and that the people here are positive and kind.
