About Gateway Foundation – Carbondale
Tucked away in the southern outskirts of Carbondale, Illinois is the Gateway Foundation. This is a residential drug rehab facility that supports women working through a substance abuse addiction.
The Gateway Foundation provides wraparound services and 24/7 supervision through their residential treatment program. The care team here is equipped to address your substance abuse struggles whether you’re battling a dependency on nicotine, stimulants, depressants, opioids, or other substances. The medical staff, licensed drug counselors, and social workers are also able to support you through a coexisting mental health struggle you might have as well.
While evidence based therapies including medically supervised detox, medication assisted treatment, and targeted behavioral counseling are the foundation of recovery plans, you’ll also find a strong sense of person focused care here.
This residential program understands the unique struggles women face whether it’s an addiction dependency brought on by prescription abuse, postpartum depression, trauma, or another female-centric health issue. There are support groups that discuss different topics women face in recovery and you’ll find a sisterhood you can tap into that will help you work through these challenges.
This facility sits on a 14 acre campus and is in a secluded, wooded area, offering the perfect backdrop where you can work on your recovery distraction free.
You get to connect with nature here through mindfulness therapy and you’ll have a serene environment where you can focus fully on yourself.
There are spacious walking grounds around the campus and common areas including an outdoor gazebo where you can get in tune with nature, build meaningful relationships with your peers, and reflect on your recovery journey and the goals you have for yourself.
There’s also a full size gymnasium, comfortable shared bedrooms, and home like common spaces indoors where you can join in on support group meetings and other activities.
