About Gateway Homes – Chesterfield
Gateway Homes provides transitional residential treatment programs for those living with mental illness who want to regain their independence. This branch is located in Chesterfield, Virginia. It caters to clients with a dual diagnosis. This means that they’ve been diagnosed with a mental health disorder and a substance use disorder at the same time.
The Chesterfield locale has two options for residential treatment. These are the Supported Living Center and Supported Living Apartments. The Supported Living Center is for clients coming out of state hospitals and provides care and supervision around the clock. Clients undergo individualized treatment plans that can include drug interventions and learn coping skills to manage their illness. Treatment includes medication management, counseling, education, and developing coping skills.
In Supported Living Apartments, you’ll receive treatment while learning to become more responsible and self-sufficient. It’s great that the treatment program focuses on the management of mental illness, so you can develop the social, educational, and job training skills to lead a more independent life when you graduate.
Unfortunately, the waitlist for admission into Gateway Homes is long, but the response from past clients to the program suggests it could be worth the wait. Former clients claim they were treated like family by the staff who helped instill in them vital coping skills on their journey to recovery and independence.
