About Gavin Foundation – McGahan Center – Quincy
Just southwest of Quincy Bay in Massachusetts, the Gavin Foundation runs the McGahan Center in Quincy. The Gavin Foundation provides a number of services to people seeking treatment for alcohol and drug addictions.
They give special attention to those who are getting treatment as an alternative to incarceration. This means that they receive federal and state funding to allow some financial aid. Alternatively, they also accept out of pocket payments, Medicaid, Medicare, and most private insurance plans.
The McGahan Center has 64 beds for adult men and women who need the foundation’s acute treatment services (ATS) or clinical stabilization services (CSS). The facility has medical staff 24 hours a day who can admit patients and give them the care they need.
ATS includes medication assisted treatment and detox monitoring under the nursing staff’s care. This service is meant to help individuals go through difficult withdrawals safely and comfortably.
After ATS, patients can stay for the CSS program. This first step after the initial detox serves as a bridge between withdrawal and longer term recovery programs.
The Gavin Foundation has other facilities where they can provide you with longer term inpatient care. They have a graduate program too that’s designed to offer a sober living environment where you can start to rebuild your independence.
