About Glenwood Life Counseling Center – Baltimore
Glenwood Life Counseling Center is a nonprofit and accredited addiction treatment center that’s been supporting clients of all ages and their families since 1971. Approximately 700 clients get help here every year, receiving access to a range of supportive services. The center is based in Baltimore, Maryland.
IOP is available here to provide clients with a flexible treatment option that works alongside work and school routines. As part of this program, clients can access medication-assisted treatment (MAT) using medicines like methadone to support their wellbeing during recovery. Medicines used for MAT can help eliminate withdrawal sickness and other symptoms like cravings so you’re more likely to stay sober while you build the foundation for recovery with therapy.
MAT and counseling are coupled with other services like case management and peer support for a rounded, holistic approach to care. You’ll also undergo regular health assessments, with the team monitoring your progress and response to treatment for safety reasons. The goal of this program is to help clients reach a point of stability so they can more easily engage with their day-to-day lives.
Peer case managers work alongside the care team here to help connect clients to further support services. In this context, support can cover various things like referrals to residential rehab or other mental health and addiction treatment services, social services, and employment help.
When it comes to employment help, you can access help with computer skills and resume writing. You can also rely on them to help you apply for health insurance as well as housing, whether that’s transitional or recovery housing, shelters, or assisted living facilities.
