About Good Shepherd Services – Halethorpe
Good Shepherd Services was a residential treatment center for teenagers in Halethorpe, Maryland. It welcomed clients from the ages of 13 to 21. For teens and even young adults who were struggling with emotional health or behavioral health issues like addiction this was a place to get well.
This residential facility was a faith based treatment center. Specifically it was a Catholic organization that was run by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. For Catholic families who wanted to help their kids with addiction and other issues, this center could give them treatment that was founded on Catholic teachings.
One thing that really stood out to me was the size of this campus. It was spread across 70 acres in the Baltimore area. Not only was this the clients’ home, it was where they took all their schooling and their therapy and other addiction treatment.
This facility was also a nonprofit organization. They were on a mission to help put Catholic families back together without the families paying more than they could afford. While they’re closed, there are other treatment centers nearby.
