About Goodwill of NY and North NJ – Astoria, New York

The Goodwill NYNJ main office is based in Brooklyn, New York. Their mission is to help people living with disabilities and/or mental health challenges become independent. They provide opportunities to work and they support you through counseling, education, and medication management.

Their behavioral health services treat adults with co-occurring disorders. Treatment includes therapy for individuals, groups, and families. They also provide full psychiatric assessments and medication management, helping you get on top of your mental health.

Goodwill NYNJ runs a program called PROS. This stands for personalized recovery oriented services. This program is for adults over the age of 18 who are living with severe mental health or substance abuse challenges. During treatment, you’ll learn life skills that help you live on your own, cope without substances, and find a place within your community. Treatment is tailored to meet your needs and goals.

They also have clubhouses that perform a similar role, but with slightly less personalization. These clubhouses create a safe space for you to find a job, increase your skill set, and become part of a community that advocates for stable housing, quality of life, relationships, employment, and education.
