About Grupo De AA – Alcoholicos Anonimos – Oakland
Grupo De AA – Alcoholicos Anonimos (also called Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA) is a 12-Step program of recovery that helps individuals overcome substance use disorders. The program involves attending regular recovery meetings, working through the 12-Step program with a sponsor, and being of service to newcomers. Anyone can attend. The only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. Meetings are available 24/7 throughout the year.
The peer support program is offered by individuals who have personal experience with addiction and recovery. Certified by the state, peers can support individuals to make a recovery plan, help them access services, and assist them in achieving their goals.
Anyone can attend AA, and it is free to become a member. Participants may be referred to other services that accept private health insurance such as Humana, Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and more. Be sure to verify your out-of-network benefits and other coverage information with your insurance provider.
